The podcast focuses on startups, pitching, investing and diversity
Goodwin technology partner Mitzi Chang joined the first season of Pitch Makeover, a new podcast on startups, pitching, investing, & #morevoices (women, non-binary people, and men of color).
The podcast’s ‘Legal Minute’ segment features Mitzi, where she answers startup legal questions.
“I am thrilled to be a part of Pitch Makeover and helping to expand the diversity of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.” Mitzi said. “In the ‘Legal Minute’ segment, I’ve shared some legal tips for entrepreneurs in navigating common problems in launching their startups, including how to protect your intellectual property, what formation structure may be best for your company, and when you should consult with a lawyer.”
The two creators of the podcast, Natalia Oberti Noguera and Gina Delvac are both veterans in the industry. Natalia is the founder and CEO of Pipeline Angels, an angel investing capital company for women and non-binary femme social entrepreneurs; Gina is the founding producer of the popular podcast, Call Your Girlfriend, a playful take on the week’s news.
According to a Forbes article featuring the new podcast, Only .2% of VC funding went to black women founders from 2012 to 2014. In contrast, about 20% of Pipeline Angels’ $4 million portfolio is black women founders. Pitch Makeover hopes it will increase the percentages of diverse founders even further. The show's first season of 12 episodes features 15% Asian women, 8% Latinas, 23% white women, 46% Black women, and 8% non-binary Black people.
