On Wednesday, April 3, 2013, Goodwin Procter is sponsoring the 6th annual University Research & Entrepreneurship Symposium 2013 (URES) at Microsoft New England Research & Development Center in Cambridge, MA with Flybridge Capital Partners, Atlas Venture, General Catalyst Partners and NCET2.
URES brings world-class technologies in three focus areas – information technology, deep technology and life sciences – from universities to the Boston area to showcase them before a group of New England’s top entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Over the past 5 years, 110 projects from nearly 40 universities have presented to entrepreneurs and venture capitalists at the event resulting in 13 companies receiving nearly $100 million in funding to date.
As members of the URES Steering Committees, Goodwin Procter’s Dave Cappillo, Joe Theis, and Duncan Greenhalgh were able to participate in evaluating university submissions presented at the event, and Goodwin's Shaun Ryan will lead an interactive lunch session on negotiating terms for university spinouts.
